Gas Saving Devices

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Over the last few weeks I have been neglecting this blog a bit but over the weekend something happened that perked my interest. I was telling somebody about the water4gas technology and he told me that somebody else I know is marketing the devices for another person who is making and installing the water4gas units. The next day I spoke to another person who is living in the same house with the guy making the units and she told me that this guy is getting an 80% increase in mpg!

I have of course bought the info product and intend to make one for my own vehicle but due to time constraints have not yet managed that. Anyway to actually hear about somebody in the same city who successfully implemented the technology (not somebody out there on the internet) puts a different spin on things. In the next week or so I plan to go and have a look and I will definitively let everybody who reads this blog know what it looks like!

Save Gas – Advanced Tips Article

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Instead of posting the (rather long!) article here I am providing the direct link, 12 Advanced Tips here to have a look at twelve tips that comes from the Water4Gas system.

This include things like:

  • To create hydrogen & oxygen while you drive (that is the basis of the water 4 gas system)
  • which plug wires to use for better performance
  • what type of fuel not to use
  • how even the oil you use makes a difference
  • get money back from the IRS!
  • etc.

Have a look now at 12 Advanced Tips

Common sense ways to save gas

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

We often look for gadgets and products (and there are several valid ones) to save gas, but we sometimes forget that plain old common sense plays a vital role! These things are so mundane and boring that we don’t really want to look at them but they are often the most important.

1. First up is the condition of the vehicles engine. A well maintained and regularly serviced and tuned engine performs far better with far greater fuel efficiency than one with worn parts. this is almost like a precondition to everything else.

2. Just as important as the above point are driving habits. Especially in an area where there are traffic lights. The flow and speed of the traffic is controlled by the timing of the various sets of traffic lights and my experience is that one will usually not get to your destination much faster by accelerating quickly only to have to hit the brakes at the next set of traffic lights. The only big difference is a huge increase in fuel consumption!

3. This point might in a way fall under point one but has another dimension as well. Tyre pressure has a very significant influence on fuel usage. Tyres should always be kept at the manufacturer’s recommended pressure. A slightly higher than recommended pressure (10% – 15% but not exceeding the maximum pressure) will increase fuel efficiency but is offset by a loss of traction and a detrimental effect on the longevity of the tyres. Experiment at your own risk!

4. Something I have seen recommended is to put your gear in neutral going downhill (assuming that you have a manual transmission) but this is also only workable when the decline is sufficient for you not to loose to much speed. If you loose too much speed then the acceleration to get up to speed again will take more gas so overall you will probably not save gas.

Save Gas – What inspired this blog?

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

A while ago I stumbled upon a system called Water 4 Gas. To be quite honest the first time I heard about it my scientific sensibilities kicked in and my first reaction was that somebody is trying to pull a fast one! You know common sense tells you that water cannot burn! The second time I saw the name (and in the meantime somebody I sort of trust recommended the product) I decided to have a look and of course learned that the water is broken down into it’s elements – 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen and that gas, called HHO (and various other names), is used to enrich the air that an internal combustion engine uses.

The really neat thing is that a cell, which is simple enough to build at home, is used to produce this gas WHILE YOU DRIVE without having to store any of it, and to introduce it into the air intake system of a car in such a way that no other modifications are necessary. With a simple system like that really worthwhile results can be achieved.

I have purchased the product and I am in the process of getting the parts together to experiment a bit and see what is possible.

The sales page of the Water 4 Gas system, even if you don’t buy it or cannot use it (who can’t!), is worth having a look at if only for the information given there.
